If you are a new or continuing student undertaking nationally recognised training, you need a USI in order to receive your qualification or statement of attainment.
All Full Qualification (e.g. Cert IV in Business Admin) students must supply a valid USI before a qualification can be issued.
First Aid students - from 1st January 2018, it will be mandatory for first aid students to provide a USI. A certificate or statement of attainment will not be issued unless a USI has been provided.
Your USI will give you access to an online record of the training you have done since 1st January 2015. You will also be able to produce a comprehensive transcript of your training. This can be used when applying for a job, seeking a credit transfer or demonstrating pre-requisites when undertaking further study.
By providing a USI, if your training organisation ceases operating - an academic record of your training will be available if you cannot get a copy from the closed training organisation.
WE SUGGEST - if you have a USI and have not provided it to VICS, we recommend that you email your USI to email@example.com so that we can add your USI to your student record.
Don't have a USI? Don't worry! It's simple to apply for a USI and only takes a few minutes. Go to www.usi.gov.au and apply for one today.
Once you have a USI - please let us know so that we can update your student records with your USI.
